Toni and Nick opted for their forthcoming wedding venue as the location for their engagement shoot. Thornbury Golf Club is quite exposed and the wind certainly whistles through the grounds at times, even in June!
Both were quite self conscious to begin with but, after a few laps round the orchard, they soon realized it was nothing to be scared of and started to relax. They definitely couldn't look more at ease than they do in these photos and I know we're going to get some stunning images of their wedding.

Laura & Adrian's engagement shoot
Laura and Adrian went back to the actual spot where Adrian proposed for their pre-wedding shoot. Clifton Suspension Bridge viewing platform to be exact!
A little nervous in front of the camera, I think this shoot did both Laura and Adrian the world of good and I am expecting them to be great on the day - we'll get some fab photos! That's what the pre-wedding shoot is about, after all - dispelling any nerves and feeling relaxed and natural on the big day.
It was quite a challenge to include (at least part of) the bridge in a portrait, but it turned out to be my favourite of the day.

Sian & Gerry's Wedding
Sian and Gerry were married at The Clifton Pavilion in Bristol Zoo Gardens on 27th May - what a fantastic venue for a wedding!! The newly refurbished function rooms are upmarket and very classy and, whilst leopard-print carpet sounds dodgy, it's absolutely not and fits in perfectly with the animal theme.
The kilts were out in force (worn in true Scottish fashion!), the weather was superb and the assembled family and friends were as friendly a group as you could possibly hope for.
Doing a photo shoot in the zoo was great fun and capturing the newlyweds hand feeding the Lorikeets from under the safety of an umbrella was a highlight.
Ice creams and pick 'n mix sweets were a quirky and popular way to keep guests amused until the evening reception began.
All in all, a fabulous day - here are some of my personal favourites: -

Roxie & Rich's post-wedding party
Many congratulations to Roxie and Rich who married in the Dominican Republic earlier this month. I wasn't fortunate enough to photograph the wedding itself, but was asked to cover the evening celebrations on their return to the UK.
The Bristol (golf club) was the venue, with far reaching views over the severn estuary and beautiful grounds in which to wander. Rather a windy evening, the released doves decided to land on the patio instead of flying off gracefully into the sunset!
Rich had rather too much fun driving the golf buggy through the grounds as we looked for photo opportunities, but even more fun was had on the dance floor by the scores of guests keen to celebrate with the newlyweds.
Here are a few from the party.

Kerri & Craig's Wedding
Kerri and Craig were fortunate enough to have hot and sunny weather for their wedding at the Stonehouse Court Hotel on Friday, which meant a last minute change of plans so the ceremony could take place outside in the beautiful Pagoda.
Fashionably late, Kerri had a few nerves which subsided as soon as she took her father's arm to walk down the red carpet.
Beaming throughout, both Kerri and Craig said their vows confidently and faultlessly and were pronounced 'husband and wife' under glorious blue skies.
The wedding breakfast took place in the Caroline Suite and the newlyweds flew off the next day for a 'mini-moon' in Turkey, in advance of a longer holiday in Canada at a later date.
Here is a taster - more will soon follow over on my website at www.sheilaharvey.co.uk

Sian & Gerry's engagement shoot
A beautiful, warm Spring day greeted us on Saturday for Sian and Gerry's pre-wedding shoot. Ashton Court in Bristol was the venue again - such a fabulous place so close to the city, it's always a real treat to do a shoot here.
Naturals in front of the lens, this so obviously loved-up couple dressed up for the occasion, looking as stunning as the backdrop against which they were being photographed. With their wedding in six weeks time at the Clifton Pavilion, Bristol Zoo Gardens, I am looking forward to getting some really unusual images - all of them promising to be great if the newlyweds are as relaxed in front of the camera on the day!

Kerri & Craig's Engagement Shoot
Wedding season is almost upon us again and I'm itching to get started after a couple of months break!
Ashton Court in Bristol was today's setting for the first engagement shoot of the year with Kerri and Craig.
A gorgeous day with clear blue skies and early Spring sunshine made it a pleasure to shoot two reluctant models. Uneasy at the thought of being the centre of attention, both Kerri and Craig confessed to dreading today's shoot! Any initial sign of nerves soon dissipated however, and we got some great relaxed and natural looking shots. That's what the pre-wedding shoot is about, after all - getting used to the camera in advance, so it's a doddle on the Big Day itself. Craig even admitted to the whole experience actually being good fun - job done!!
I'm really looking forward to their wedding on 6th May and, after today's photo shoot, I know we're going to get some fabulous photographs of the wedding.

Sturt family portrait shoot on location
My last commission of the year was a portrait shoot on location in Stourton, Wiltshire, on 28th December.
I love doing outdoor shoots. The fact that they are informal enables everyone to relax and be themselves, which results in real personalities shining through - no stilted poses or forced smiles here!
As part of a large group of 15, Will Sturt led his family into the beautiful National Trust countryside and performed to perfection for the camera. The Great British Weather did little to dampen everyone's enthusiasm and, despite the drizzle, fog and cold, we spent a fun hour capturing some great images. Here are some of my favourites. Happy New Year!

Lara and Luke's wedding
Congratulations to Lara and Luke Hiscock who married at St. Peter's and St. Paul's church, Wincanton, on 13th November. A cold but bright autumn day saw Lara brave the chill in a beautiful halter-neck gown, decorated with the most gorgeous beads.
More than a little nervous, Lara took a few minutes to calm herself as the tears welled up at the last minute! Then it was smiles all the way to the altar on the arm of her proud father.
Here are a few that I particularly like.
